Paula M. Mendoza

Native Houstonian Paula Mendoza is an entrepreneur, innovator, advocate, barrier-breaker and tireless volunteer recognized not only for the quality of her work, but for the passion she brings to every endeavor.

For the past 19 years Mendoza has been in leadership at Possible Missions, Inc. (PM), a company she established in 2001, specializing in Project Management Solutions. Beginning with just $100 in the bank to reaching multi-million dollars in revenues, strategic planning was always a must.  During this process Mendoza came to the realization that a new structure was necessary to separate the services side of the company with the product side.  This is where Pos Mis Inc. (PMI) was incorporated in 2018.

Mendoza’s experience has led the company in achieving significant accolades including Houston Minority Business Council’s 2012 Supplier of the Year Award and a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Accountability Champion Award for its expenditures with fellow MBEs in 2013 and 2018.  The U.S. Small Business Administrator’s Award of Excellence also garnered in 2012, noting the firm’s success as a sub-by The University of Texas System Supply Chain Alliance. Possible Missions maintains the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 Certification since 2011.

Mendoza’s humility, discernment and sense of fairness are evidenced by her service as past Chairman of the State of Texas Ethics Commission, past board member of the Texas Board of Public Accountants and past Chairman of the Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC).   In October 2013, Mendoza was appointed to the University of Houston System Board of Regents, a Tier One institution, by the Governor of Texas for a six-year term, where she is currently serving as the Secretary of the Board. She also serves on countless boards in Houston. Over the years she has offered her time and talent as a speaker, event organizer and community leader to countless organizations.  She has been recognized as a Women of Distinction, one of 50 Most Influential Women in Houston and a Women on the Move.

Mendoza earned a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice (1995) and an MBA from the University of Houston-Downtown (2017).  She and her husband of 31 years, Robert, have one adult son, a wonderful daughter-in-law, three grandkids and a 16-year-old goddaughter, Natalie, who has captured their hearts.
