Dr. Jennifer Murdock

Dr. Jennifer Murdock is an Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Plastic Eye Surgery Associates. As a surgeon, she is able to blend her passion for both the arts and science. This unique combination began at the University of Miami, where she achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Marine Science with a minor in art history, which included a semester studying art first-hand in Paris. She then applied her science background to clinic research, studying novel laser, injectable, and surgical techniques within UM’s Department of Cosmetic Medicine.

While completing her medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Murdock also participated in the Department of Community Service (DOCS), which provided free medical screening to many underprivileged communities in South Florida. She spearheaded an educational project with a professional director and film crew to create a documentary series about the culture, medical needs, and health care gaps within these diverse communities.

Dr. Murdock returned to Houston to complete a residency in ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine, where she delved further into education by teaching medical trainees in both didactic and hands-on settings. She was then selectively chosen from a highly competitive group of applicants to join the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with a fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University, where she performed thousands of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face, eyelids, and orbit in both adults and children alike.

Dr. Jennifer Murdock is currently a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellow of the Oculofacial Plastic Society (ASOPRS). She has a particular interest in aesthetic procedures, eyelid and orbital reconstruction, pediatric ophthalmic plastic surgery, and complicated orbital inflammatory disorders, including thyroid eye disease. She recently participated in an FDA multi-center study investigating a new treatment for thyroid eye disease and is currently a sought-out speaker for her expertise in the field. She has published in medical journals and textbooks and has repeatedly been invited to present at the renowned ASOPRS and other international meetings.

Dr. Murdock continues her passion for the arts and is an avid supporter of Houston’s art culture, particularly the symphony, theater, and ballet performances. She also serves as a board member for the 40 Under 40 committee of the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
