Dr. Reagan Flowers

In Dr. Reagan Flowers’ current role as Chief Knowledge Officer for Education Consulting Services, she provides education innovation, diversity and inclusion, and workforce development advisory services to clients, including national foundations, educational institutions, and Fortune 500 companies. In addition to her professional work, she is also active on the frontlines of education and workforce development issues. Dr. Flowers’ work in this area led to a successful appointment as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Houston Community College System, a position where her track record of education advocacy, community stakeholder engagement, and demonstrated business acumen has enabled her to strike the right balance as an elected representative. In addition to serving as Vice Chair for the Board of Trustees, she also serves on the Audit Committee with oversight of a nearly $400 million budget.

In 2002, Dr. Flowers became the founding CEO of C-STEM Teacher and Student Support Services, Inc. She led operations and fund development, growing the annual program budget from $10,000 to over $500,000 during the first five years of operation. Her accomplishments in that role led to Dr. Flowers’ recognition as a 2014 White House STEM Access Champion of Change during the Obama administration.

Working for organizations, tasked with tackling tough issues related to equitable education, social mobility, economic disparity, diversity, and inclusion, and advocating for access to the right opportunities from the grassroots to grass tops is her personal mission.

Dr. Flowers is a first-generation college graduate, reared in Mississippi by way of Michigan, who grew up in a bottom income quintile family. The selfless investments of her elementary and secondary school teachers placed her on a pathway to college and career success—eventually earning a baccalaureate degree in Biology from Texas Southern University, a master’s in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University of Texas, and a Ph.D. in Education Leadership/Systems from the Union Institute and University.

Dr. Flowers has received notable recognitions that include:

  • Global Finalist for the World Innovation Summit on Education (2011)
  • Top Educational Innovator of the Year (2020)
  • International Association of Top Professionals Empowered Woman Award (2021)

Dr. Flowers resides in Houston with her husband and enjoys the culinary arts and traveling throughout the world.
