Known for her dynamic approach to school turnaround and transformation in many of the country’s largest urban epicenters, she’s led over 150 national and international schools. Her work is guided by an unyielding commitment to level the educational landscape for Black and Brown children, and equip leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to change the academic and social-emotional trajectory of students who attend their schools. A native Houstonian, Dr. Sheri believes in giving back to communities that served her, by providing them with equitable educational opportunities for minority students.

While with Edison Schools, she was also responsible for professional development programs, managing achievement support systems and metrics, and accelerating and sustaining school achievement gains via a district partnerships model for over 100 schools. Dr. Sheri L. (TEP), a boutique educational consulting firm designed to provide targeted support to struggling schools via a five-fold focus campus improvement model. In 2019, TEP expanded its reach to include the international education sector with a focus on improving schools in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). TEP’s reach also extends to Africa and India.
