HOUSTON (March 10, 2022) – The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency, a nonprofit providing Houston-area women and girls with the tools needed to be advocates for their health, is now accepting applications for the 8th Annual Barbara Devetski Scholarship Essay Contest. Two winners will receive a $2,500 scholarship towards tuition for the 2022 fall semester.
“Many adolescent girls face critical issues and require important resources to overcome challenges and difficult situations,” said Linda Rhodes, Executive Director of The Women’s Fund. “We look forward to awarding scholarships to two individuals who have overcome challenges and are ready to start a new chapter in college as resilient young women.”
The scholarship was created in loving memory of Barbara Devetski, the organization’s first Executive Director who served in that capacity for over two decades.
