Susan Edionwe, MD, FACS, DipABLM

Susan O. Edionwe, MD, FACS, DipABLM is a board-certified Otolaryngologist and fellowship-trained Advanced Rhinologist and Skull Base Surgeon, proudly serving the Sugar Land and Houston communities. Her clinical expertise spans allergy care, sinus surgery, and complex skull base procedures—delivered with compassion, innovation, and precision.

She is the founder of Blue Ribbon ENT, Allergy & Sinus Center, a forward-thinking practice rooted in the belief that health care should be both high-tech and deeply human. The name, Blue Ribbon, was chosen with purpose – it represents her commitment to delivering first-class, exceptional care in every patient interaction. Dr. Edionwe’s vision extends beyond clinical excellence to create an environment where patients feel truly valued, heard, and cared for as individuals.

Her journey began at the University of Texas-Pan American for undergraduate studies, followed by medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. After completing an intensive five-year residency in Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery at UTMB, she pursued advanced fellowship training in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery at McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Dr. Edionwe is one of fewer than 1% of practicing Black Otolaryngologists in the United States, a distinction she carries with pride as she advocates for representation, equity, and access in medicine. She was named a Top Doctor by Houstonia Magazine in October 2020, recognizing her excellence and impact in the field. In addition to her surgical practice, she is a certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician, national health educator, and soft skills expert dedicated to patient-centered care and advancing leadership in health care. Dr. Edionwe frequently advises health systems, corporations, and medical organizations on integrating AI and emerging technologies while strengthening human connection and communication in clinical practice.

She is the current President of the Nigerian Physicians Advocacy Group (NPAG), where she champions policy reform and health equity initiatives locally and globally. A respected voice in values-driven leadership, she promotes emotional intelligence, empathy, and active listening as critical tools for effective governance and organizational culture.

Dr. Edionwe is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Baylor University, expected to graduate in 2026, to further prepare for expanded leadership and board service. She recently earned her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification, equipping her with advanced tools for driving innovation, quality improvement, and strategic transformation in health care delivery.

With over a decade of experience, Dr. Edionwe is known for her commitment to mentorship, systemic change, and compassionate healing. Grounded in faith and purpose, she remains passionate about educating, inspiring, and building impactful collaborations that elevate health and humanity.
