COLLEEN D. BANKS

Colleen Banks is currently a Senior Associate at Wealth Development Strategies LLC after getting her start serving the financial service needs of the Lutheran community through Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  As a financial associate with Wealth Development Strategies, Banks helps clients achieve independence that incorporates cash management, risk management, college funding, retirement strategies, mutual funds and estate preservation. Banks focuses on helping professionals, entrepreneurs and families identify their financial goals and objectives and then implement strategies to maximize their financial potential. 

Banks has a Bachelor of Science degree in General Business from the University of Houston and holds FINRA Series 6 and 63 securities licenses and the Group 1 Life and Health and Variable insurance license in CA, DC, GA, IL, IN, LA, NY, PA, TX, VA.

Banks has served the community by volunteering with various organizations including Women’s Resource Center as an instructor in the “Money Matters” workshop, Optimum Lifestyle and Extreme Green Youth Works promoting “Green Gardening” in the community, Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals educating on the importance of financial planning and active volunteer for CSTEM – “Everyone is an Artist and an Engineer”. Banks is an Iron Woman with This Woman’s Work Stepping Into Strength Mentoring Program. She has participated on panels with various organizations and churches to educate the community on why financial management is necessary as business owners and families prioritize their finance. Banks, along with other female advisors in the firm, hosted a radio talk show, “Let’s Talk Money”. 

Banks is a loyal volunteer with the girl’s group at her church, which combines fun in a Christian environment where the girls can discuss issues that relate to them and take on projects that help the community.  She is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce and is also an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
