As a health care provider, she is extremely concerned about the number of African American women who are faced with hormonal-related cancers (i.e. Breast Cancer) at an early age. When she discovered that more than five of her close friends were battling this type of cancer, she realized that this issue should be a priority for organizations such as ABHP.

“In particular, we need to focus on increasing the number of African American clinical trial participants. Educational awareness and clinical trial financial incentives are key components to increasing the enrollment of African American participants. Also, we need to focus on increasing the participation of African American health care providers in professional organizations such as ABHP.”
