Reva A. Witherspoon

Reva Witherspoon is the Vice President of Marketing for Amerigroup, a managed healthcare organization serving more than 192,000 underserved citizens of Harris, Jefferson and 18 surrounding counties. Amerigroup is a subsidiary of WellPoint, Inc., one of the largest health benefits companies in the United States.

Witherspoon completed her education at Middle Tennessee State University and then the Graduate School of Human Resources at the University of Colorado. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Change Happens! Witherspoon is a past board member of CABLE (Women’s Professional Organization), Tennessee Bankers Association, Society of Human Resources Management (Nashville) and Contract Services of America Advisory Board.

She was encouraged by her dad to live fearlessly and authentically. As the only daughter of five children, Witherspoon’s father insisted that she define her own unique destiny. Although chronically ill, her dad found the strength to inspire self-discipline and accountability in the many children drawn to him throughout the community.

An ordained minister, Witherspoon serves her community through volunteerism, teaching, mentoring and motivational speaking – pragmatically addressing issues such as homelessness, domestic violence and keys to living a fulfilled life. Her daily mantra is “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” She is currently an active member of The Fountain of Praise Church.

Witherspoon is most proud of her daughter, Tiffany. An accomplished oil & gas professional and diversity advocate, Tiffany continues the legacy of her grandparents by promoting change, improving lives and serving her community. Witherspoon is the proud grandmother to Preston, a sophomore at Kipp Sunnyside College Prep, and Maya, 7 a second-grader at Law Elementary. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Witherspoon also enjoys travel, music, great conversation and a few good books.
