Dr. Reem Sabouni

Reem Sabouni, M.D. is a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) physician and Director of Infertility and Oocyte Cryopreservation at Houston Fertility Institute. As a surgical subspecialist of obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Sabouni is focused on the treatment of infertility, fertility preservation and hormonal dysfunctions leading to reproductive complications. She also serves as clinical faculty for both OB/GYN resident physicians and medical students.      

A native Houstonian, Dr. Sabouni completed her undergraduate studies at Rice University. She attended medical school at the University of Texas McGovern Medical School at Houston, the sixth largest medical school in the country, where she served as class president of her medical school class during all four years. 

Following her passion for women’s health, Dr. Sabouni pursued residency in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine at the Memorial Hermann Hospital, located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. She completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the legendary Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia, the birthplace of In-Vitro Fertilization in America. 

After 11 years of post-undergrad training, she joined Houston Fertility Institute (HFI), the largest fertility practice in the state of Texas with 13 clinical locations around the Houston area and 15 physicians on staff. With state-of-the-art facilities offering advanced fertility treatments and high success rates, HFI has helped thousands of couples start or complete their families.

Dr. Sabouni is dedicated to empowering women and couples, particularly through education and understanding treatment options to find the right treatment option for them. She is published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and textbooks, as well as having presented at international meetings on topics including: minimally invasive surgery, decreasing opioid use in infertility clinics, medical education and decreasing unscheduled bleeding associated with contraception use.

Outside of work, Dr. Sabouni enjoys an active life of group fitness and enjoying quality time with family and friends. She is a firm believer in giving back to her community and is an active member of the Junior League of Houston, a nonprofit organization committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving communities.
