Talia Alfred

Talia Alfred has always had a knack for logistics and management. You can always count on her to plan an event from start to finish. She loves to look at the big picture and drill down into the details of a project to get it done. Throughout her career she has efficiently resolved challenges and exceeded expectations. That is why it was only a natural progression for her to work alongside her husband to develop a strong business foundation for his flourishing law practice.

Talia is the Director of Operations at The Alfred Firm, a top multi-million dollar litigation firm in Houston. She specializes in management and operations in a growth-minded environment. Her major roles at the firm include overseeing financials, HR, strategic analysis, legal administration, business planning, and community outreach. Talia believes in building strong relationships with other businesses and the community in order to grow as a firm. Knowing how to manage the internal day-to-day business operations is very important to her, therefore, finding the right people and resources are a critical part of her position.

She earned a BA in sociology from the University of Houston and later graduated from the Center for Advanced Legal Studies paralegal school. Following that time, she has worked as paralegal for a Wills, Trusts and Estate planning firm, and a Maritime law firm. In 2009, her experience led her to work in the Land department of an oil exploration company. During the BP Oil Spill in 2010, she had the opportunity to participate in leading a procurement group which supplied much needed materials across the Gulf Coast. She later became a business analyst, where she performed a plethora of data analysis using ERP systems. While earning an MBA, she advanced to an Operations Manager in Supply Chain for a major oil and gas supply company. This enabled her to gain experience in analytics along with directing staff in meeting goals while ascertaining operational and financial goals and coordinating strategies to gain post-implementation success.

She was born in Missouri and raised in Texas. There has always been a deep passion for the arts in her life, volunteering for Houston Dance and other performance arts organizations. She has performed in almost every major theater venue in Houston and throughout the nation. Talia was a principal dancer for the Colombian Folkloric Ballet and collaborated with many other dance companies from a very early age. She is a proud member of the Association of Legal Administrators, UH Alumni, and Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX), the national paralegal honor society. Her passion for community service has driven her to sponsor several local children’s sports teams, volunteer and contribute to women’s nonprofit organizations such as the Women’s Center, Hurricane Relief, and the Houston Food Bank.

Her and her husband have a beautiful daughter, Giselle and a delightful Brittany Spaniel, Dempsey, to keep them on their toes. If she is not with her family you can always find her on her yoga mat or star gazing. She hopes to inspire young girls to live out their dreams and keep reaching for the stars, even during times of uncertainty.
