Joyce L. Jacquet

Joyce L. Jacquet is a superlative, accomplished retired educator and counselor of 37 years who is passionate about her faith, family and chosen profession.  Currently, she is continuing her dedication to helping people live better lives by serving as a licensed therapist and counselor.  She has an amazing appreciation for life and all the beautiful blessings she has received.  Jacquet holds a Bachelor of Arts from HBCU Grambling State University, a Master of Education from HBCU Texas Southern University and Mid-Management Certification from HBCU Prairie  View A&M University.  She possesses excellent leadership skills, while also demonstrating the ability to work within the structure of the group.     

Jacquet’s commitment to serving others is exemplified through her involvement in many civic and service organizations. These include the following: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Life Member, Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Life Member, NAACP, Life Member and, NCNW, Life Member, Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. Life Member, The Links, Incorporated, Advisory Council of   the Young Women’s Preparatory Academy and the Texas State Bar Grievance Board.

Her church home is the Church Without Walls where she sings in the Mass choir and works with the prayer ministry. Jacquet is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including Outstanding TLOD Area 1 President Award, Area 1 Outstanding Top Lady of the Year Award, Outstanding Community Service Award from Metropolitan CMC Church the 2016- Laureate the Above and Beyond Service Award and the Ivy Educational & Charitable Foundation Award for her Outstanding and Dedicated Service in the Community. Jacquet recently chaired the successful 90th Anniversary Gala for the Alpha Kappa Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.  She also recently served as the National TLOD Community Partnership Chair.  

Jacquet has been married to Curtis L. Jacquet Sr. for 46 years, and they have two wonderful, well accomplished sons Curtis II and Christopher Jacquet.  

Jacquet’s philosophy of life is “You can be and do anything in life that you want to do if you include God. He is the spiritual key to having a productive and successful life.”
