Lacey Tezino

Lacey Tezino is the Founder & CEO of an exciting new startup, Passport Journeys, a company completely focused on supporting mother-daughter relationships.

Lacey created the very first teletherapy app designed specifically for adult mother-daughter pairs.  The app works by assigning each pair to a licensed clinician to guide the women through this important relationship. The monthly subscription includes bi-weekly video sessions, a prescribed bonding activity, a thoughtful journal prompt and an assigned worksheet to help with communication. The app was recently approved and published on both iOS and Google app stores.

Before jumping into entrepreneurship, Lacey created a successful career as a healthcare IT leader. Lacey worked as a PMP certified project manager, vendor relationship manager, and organizational change management expert for large hospital systems throughout the United States and the nation of Qatar.  Lacey most recently served as the Director of IT for the Menninger Clinic, one of the top 10 best psychiatric hospitals in the nation. She led the clinic through their largest project in their 94-year history, the implementation of an electronic health record system. One of Lacey’s mantras is that technology can be used in beautiful ways to enhance our lives and make mental health care more accessible and convenient.

Before moving to Houston, Lacey spent many years traveling the world and immersing herself in other cultures. Lacey’s favorite adventure was living in the Middle East Region. She spent three years in the recent FIFA world cup host country, Qatar. Lacey lived and worked in Doha leading the digitization of clinical documentation for the entire nation of Qatar. Her team transformed 8 hospitals and 23 clinics from paper onto electronic health records.

Lacey holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration that she obtained while living in Incheon, South Korea. Lacey studied during the day and served as the Head of Foreign Staff at a Private English academy in the evenings.

Lacey now lives in Houston, Texas as a devoted wife, mom of 3 and caretaker for her 83-year-old grandmother. Lacey has her hands full and pours every creative ounce into the success of Passport Journeys. This year will hold many exciting projects: a pilot study for the mobile app, a new mother-daughter glamping site for unique stays away from home and a personal memoir.
