Regina Mellinger

Regina Mellinger is President and CEO of Primary Services. Mellinger stands for creating an expanding world where people are valued, their opportunities are realized, and their contributions improve the future. She drives the formulation and execution of Primary’s strategic direction; heads the senior leadership team; and partners with Primary’s portfolio of Fortune 500 customers at the executive level to advise on cutting-edge talent delivery and program enhancement solutions.  She launched Primary Services in 1988 and began her family only 2 months later. Giving birth to her first of three children didn’t stop her from reaching her first-year business goals within 3 months.

Mellinger has led Primary from its inception, growing the company through her strong partnerships with long-served clients; innovative business solutions; and commitment to service excellence. Her dedication to performance excellence has been recognized by her clients and several professional organizations, including ConocoPhillips’ 2013 Gene Hudsonpillar Award in recognition of being the top diverse-owned supplier and NRG 2011 Supplier of the Year Award. Most recently, Primary was recognized by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council with the 2017 Women’s Business Enterprise Supplier of the Year Award.

In addition to growing Houston careers, Mellinger and the Primary team also work to make an impact on the community around them. One of her and Primary’s longest standing and most cherished community relationships is with Change Happens!, a non-profit that offers a variety of programs to economically disadvantaged families in Houston. Mellinger has worked closely with Change Happens’ youth programs for over 12 years, assisting with strategic fundraising and program development. She and the Primary team coordinate and run a calendar of events including career development days, holiday gift-giving, and health programs. The Mellinger family was honored for their and Primary’s contributions at Change Happens’ annual fundraising breakfast in 2015, an event the Mellingers also chaired.

Additionally, as a member of the SuperBowl 2017 Volunteer Advisory Board, Mellinger contributed her expertise to successfully hiring and coordinating the 9,000 volunteers to support the 10 day event. Mellinger donates to and volunteers with a number of organizations such as the Women’s Home, the MS 150, and the Post Oak School. Primary’s team is similarly active in the community, lending hundreds of hours of their personal time to local animal shelters, food banks, academic programs, and other worthy causes. Mellinger promotes activism at Primary through volunteer days with the Houston Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and other charitable causes.
