Mary Moreland

Mary Moreland is the Director of Strategic Planning – Latin America, at Quanta Services, Inc. Quanta Services safely provides engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for comprehensive infrastructure needs in the electric power and oil and natural gas industries.

The bulk of Moreland’s 20-year legal career has been spent working on transactions outside the United States, principally in Latin America. With her understanding of international transactions, legal background and fluency in Spanish, Moreland is often the facilitator between differing perspectives, laws and business practices. In addition to her transactional work, Moreland has vast and deep knowledge of ethics and compliance matters and served as Quanta’s Chief Compliance Officer prior to assuming her current role.

In 2014 and 2015, Moreland was honored by the Houston Business Journal as a Finalist for Best Associate General Counsel. She is a past Board Member of the Association of Women Attorneys. Moreland is frequently invited to speak at legal conferences on compliance and ethics topics and has served on the planning committees of several. She has also been a guest speaker at the University of Houston Law Center’s class on ethics and compliance.

Moreland is the proud mother of two sons. She greatly enjoys mentoring other female professionals to support them in realizing their full potential. She is a member of the President’s Society of Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and is co-founder of the J. Marvin Moreland, Jr. ‘56 and Mary Louise Moreland ‘91 Scholarship Endowment at Washington & Lee, to help and encourage deserving Texas students to attend the University.

Moreland graduated cum laude from Washington & Lee University and Tulane University School of Law. In addition to earning her law degree, Moreland earned a Certificate in Maritime Law and was the Articles Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. She also holds a Practice Diploma from the College of Law England and Wales/IBA in International Antitrust Law.
