Leanne Dobard Alvarez

Leanne Dobard Alvarez is President and CEO of Leading Edge Enterprises, LLC, doing business as The UPS Store at Shadow Creek Ranch in Pearland, Texas. LA Holdings, LLC is her real estate ventures business located in both New Orleans and Houston. Her businesses have been operational for over 13 years.

Alvarez is currently President of The UPS Store Houston Area Advertising Co-Op developing marketing and advertising strategies for the Houston Metropolitan Area The UPS Stores. Alvarez has been recognized as a Silver level store for the past 5 years, as well as top performer in several profit center categories. Prior to her business ventures, Alvarez was a sales and marketing professional with Anheuser-Busch and Cardinal Health amongst other organizations.

Her community involvement includes, Shadow Creek Ranch (SCR) Commercial Owners Association current Board President – 3 years, SCR Master Association current Vice President – 3 years and Pearland Theatre Guild founding board member – 10 years. Alvarez has served previously on the Pearland Chamber of Commerce Board- 2 years, Northern Brazoria County Education Alliance – 1 year and SCR Village of Emerald Bay HOA Board – 5 years / President – 3 years. Alvarez is a Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Mu Kappa Omega Chapter, Missouri City. She has served as Treasurer and has been a presenter at the Mu Kappa Omega Leadership Retreat. Alvarez is a Life Member of the Pearland Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association.

Houston Minority Supplier Diversity Council recognized Alvarez as a “Harvey Hero” during the 2018 HMSDC conference. This honor was extended for her assistance to HMSDC after hurricane Harvey. Also, after Harvey, she coordinated a 3000-box donation on behalf of The UPS Store and Schwarz Corrugate to displaced Houstonians housed at the NRG arena.

          Alvarez is a member of Julia F. Thompson, Inc. (JFT), a non-profit organization which provides scholarships to Houston high school students to supplement their higher education endeavors. In 2018, Alvarez, in partnership with JFT, hosted a private event at her home to introduce the organization “Jazz Houston” to the Fort Bend area. Wynton Marsalis was the guest of honor.

A native New Orleanian and the fifth of seven children, Alvarez graduated from Southern University at New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration.  She and husband of 34 years, Michael, reside in Missouri City. They have one son, Evan, and a future daughter-in-law, Madeline Peña.
