Dr. De’Monica Cooper Amerson is an accomplished educational executive, school improvement leader, and leadership coach with more than 24 years of progressive experience transforming schools, developing leaders, and driving districtwide improvement initiatives. Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, Director of Professional Learning, and Executive Director of School Improvement and Support, building a reputation for strategic leadership, organizational excellence, and sustainable school transformation.

As the Executive Director of School Improvement and Support for Spring Independent School District, Dr. Amerson leads comprehensive school improvement efforts by partnering with principals and district leaders to strengthen instructional systems, improve student achievement, and ensure continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making. Her expertise includes principal supervision, executive coaching, accountability systems, campus improvement planning, organizational change management, leadership development, and strategic planning.

A passionate developer of people, Dr. Amerson is widely recognized as a facilitator, leadership coach, and mentor to aspiring and experienced educational leaders. She has designed and facilitated executive leadership institutes, administrator academies, districtwide learning experiences, and mentoring programs that have equipped hundreds of teachers, instructional leaders, assistant principals, principals, and district administrators with the knowledge and skills needed to lead high performing schools. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes servant leadership, strategic thinking, instructional excellence, and building leadership capacity at every level of an organization.

During her tenure as Director of Professional Learning, Dr. Amerson spearheaded the development of a comprehensive districtwide professional learning framework, directed a professional development budget exceeding $1.2 million, launched an administrator leadership series, and led a district mentorship program supporting more than 500 educators. She is also a Certified Trainer, equipping campus and district leaders with the tools to implement effective systems of academic and behavioral support.

As a campus principal, Dr. Amerson successfully led school turnaround efforts that resulted in improved accountability ratings, increased staff engagement, strengthened school culture, and enhanced instructional outcomes through strategic planning, and collaborative leadership practices. Her ability to cultivate high-performing teams and create systems for continuous improvement has earned her recognition as an innovative and results-driven educational leader.

In addition to her work in public education, Dr. Amerson is an accomplished author and nationally sought-after keynote speaker. She’s delivered engaging presentations on leadership for Prairie View A&M University, on school improvement for Joliette Public School in Chicago, organizational excellence, instructional leadership, women’s empowerment, faith based leadership, and personal growth in several districts around the state. Her authentic leadership style, practical strategies, and ability to inspire action have made her a trusted voice among educators, administrators, community leaders, and organizations across the country.

Dr. Amerson’s professional excellence has been recognized through numerous honors, including the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, the DMARS Top 50 Black Professionals & Entrepreneurs of Texas, the Women Doing It BIG Award, Spring ISD Principal of the Month, and multiple proclamations recognizing her leadership and community impact.
