Addie Heyliger

Addie Heyliger is an accomplished technology professional with over two decades interfacing with senior business executives and technical teams. She provides leadership to a technology organization in the areas of business engagement, project management and portfolio value and delivery.

While Heyliger has excelled professionally and won many awards in her career, her true passion is service. She brings over 18 years of community service to the Houston Area.

She was able to fulfill one of her life long passions by advocating for children in the foster care system and promoting child placements from foster care to adoption. She led by example by adopting two children of her own and encouraging adoption to other families in her community working with various organizations, which has led to other successful adoption placements.

In addition to her advocacy regarding adoption, she also advocates for children with mental illness. Heyliger closely works with local law enforcement and medical professionals in order render proper services for youth.

Most notably she was elected in 2015 and re-elected in 2018 as Trustee to serve on the Fort Bend Independent School Board where she currently serves as the Vice President.

When Heyliger is not serving on the school board, she can be found working with the Greater Pearland Area Chapter of the Links Incorporated by partnering with the Boys and Girls Club and facilitating the entrepreneurship program “Be the Boss” for underprivileged children.

Heyliger believes that the foundation of a child’s education is their ability to read. She initiated the “Addie’s Read-A-Thon” to support one of the underperforming schools in the district where over 70 volunteers from the community and professional organizations volunteered their time

Heyliger has recently won two awards for her service, the Outstanding Texan from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus and the Francis L. Williams Advocacy Award from the Houston Lawyers Association.

She is a certified technology professional, having earned her undergraduate degree in Computer Science from North Carolina A&T State University and her Master’s in Business Administration from Texas Women’s University. She is a certified Project Management Professional.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Links Incorporated, and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.  She is an active member of The Fort Bend Church.
