Latris Hamilton

Latris Hamilton is the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Universal Health Services at the Kingwood Pines Hospital located in Kingwood, Texas.  Kingwood Pines Hospital is a free-standing psychiatric hospital that specializes in behavioral health. Latris leads nursing services and aides in direct leadership with other members of the team to ensure operational and quality outcomes for patients, families, and staff.

Latris served as the chief nursing officer (CNO) of Select Specialty in both Wisconsin and Texas. Latris began her nursing career in Wisconsin and has held a series of progressive leadership positions in nursing administration in both Wisconsin and Texas. Latris leads with a focus on advancing the practice of nursing and ensuring servant leadership is the focus and she engages with her staff and patients. Her focus on advocacy for the nursing agenda has fostered cultures that support nurse retention and engagement, as well as superior patient outcomes. Her nursing and clinical team was recognized as a Pulmonary Center of Excellence in 2019, under her direct leadership and management. Latris truly believes nursing and leadership are a calling and must be taken very seriously.

Latris’s personal philosophy is that Florence Nightingale had it right, you must continually think of how you as a clinician can serve others. Florence Nightingale’s famous quote “I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this assembly to pass my life in purity and to practice my profession faithfully.”

Latris has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of Grand Canyon in Phoenix, Arizona.

She is an American Heart Basic Life Support Instructor. She enjoys reading books and hosts podcasts to uplift women and discuss strategies for success. Latris is passionate about Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD), as her son Elijiah Anderson was killed by a drunk driver. In honor of her son, she is the founder of Elijiah’s House and Grief Support. Elijiah’s House is an organization that mentors young men in the community and offers grief support with qualified psychiatrists and therapists who donate their time to the organization.

Latris has four children, a supportive husband, and a miniature dachshund named Rex.
