Agnes Usoro-Umoh, MD

A native of Sugar Land, Tx, Dr. Agnes Usoro-Umoh is a board-certified emergency medicine physician. She started her healthcare career as an intensive care unit (ICU) nurse after she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Georgetown University. Realizing her passion for learning and critical care, she advanced her knowledge and expertise by attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) before completing her residency at Johns Hopkins and becoming an emergency medicine physician. A self-described “adrenaline junky” in the medical field, Dr. Usoro’s passion is treating patients with a sense of urgency. Her clinical interests are global emergency medicine, improving emergency care services in low-resourced environments, and the social determinants of health.

She has worked with international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to improve emergency care resources in Nigeria, Pakistan, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Brazil. She has also worked with housing revitalization organizations, such as Rebuild Baltimore, to study the impact of neighborhood revitalization in East Baltimore on an individual’s health.

Outside of her clinical pursuits, Dr. Usoro is an avid advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion. She started the House Staff Diversity Council at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital during her emergency medicine residency training. This organization is still going strong and aims to improve the experience of under-represented in medicine residents during their medical training.

A current and ongoing passion for Dr. Usoro is regenerative health, wellness, and aesthetics. Inspired by the cancer journeys of her parents, as well as a very close friend who lost her battle to stage IV colorectal cancer, Dr. Usoro founded River Oaks Galleria (ROG) Medspa. The aim is to help others look and feel their absolute best despite life’s challenges. She recognized that as her loved ones embarked upon their cancer journeys, a key priority for them, in addition to their cancer healing and recovery, was their wellness, aesthetics, self-esteem, and mental well-being, as cancer therapy can have long-lasting effects on an individual’s skin health, hair health, gut health, functional capacity, and psyche. Everyone, despite life’s challenges, wants to look and feel their best. At River Oaks Galleria (ROG) Medspa, the priority is self-care. The company aims to be an all-inclusive center for regenerative health, wellness, and aesthetic services that helps the community to live their respective lives to the fullest.
