Anita Bates

Anita Bates is a member of the Executive Team serving as Chief Operating Officer for She’s Happy Hair and responsible for the global operations of the company. She brings more than 25 years of experience to She’s Happy Hair. Her experience and leadership have been focused on developing and delivering business solutions, providing outstanding customer satisfaction and driving profitable revenue growth.

She has an impressive history of surpassing ambitious goals and delivering results. In October 2019 Anita was successful in re-implementing the “Buy Now Pay Later” program for customers which has increased total company revenue to-date by $5.2M. She has also created a Road Map to Success for incoming Managers; which has helped to build a winning culture for employees.

To stay ahead of the competition she deemed it necessary to create an effective communications plan through organizational policies and procedures.

Anita is dedicated to supporting the CEO by assisting him to position the company for success, developing sales growth, creating new revenue streams, and building highly accomplished and effective teams that demonstrate a profound dedication to operational excellence. As a senior leader, she is also responsible for overseeing the strategic direction for the company.

Anita began her career in the Oil & Gas industry. It was during that time that she rapidly gained experience in sales, marketing, project management, and leadership. Over the following years, she built her expertise in accounting and general management. She took a series of leadership roles that eventually led to her becoming an accomplished senior executive.

Anita holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Houston Baptist University and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on Accounting, Human Resources and Marketing from University of Phoenix. She has completed one year towards the Organizational Management PhD program at Capella University. Anita believes the only way to success is to continue to develop yourself professionally. Therefore she attends trainings across the United States to continuously build a stronger foundation.

She is always willing to hit the ground running and extremely passionate and result oriented; which is why she also enjoys being the Associate Director for the She’s Happy Foundation. The foundation was developed by CEO Warren Broadnax and has raised funds to help inner city
youth and families in need. This takes place in every city that operates a She’s Happy Hair location.

Demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit, Anita has the ability to identify strategies that will lead to growth; she used this mindset to start The PowerPlay PR. Her desire was to use her skillset to assist other companies with becoming successful.

Anita is currently a member of The COO Forum; because the role of the COO is not an easy one.

It’s constantly changing and the demands are always significant. This group provides peer support, guidance and collaboration to help each other succeed in their roles.

When not at work, Anita enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and exercising.
