As chief executive of the nation’s third largest United Way, Babin blends sound business acumen with a deep understanding of community needs. Working closely with corporate and community advisors, she led the organization through the development of three strategic plans, with the most recent, Second Century Vision, set to position the United Way as the leading voice and expert in creating opportunities for low-income families and individuals to thrive. In 2017, under her leadership, United Way raised more than $50 million for immediate relief and long-term recovery following the devastation of Hurricane Harvey on the Houston region.
Babin has focused the organization on issues that assist people to secure a better future with initiatives around family financial stability, veterans services – MISSION UNITED – and educational support to children in their out-of-school time.
