Daniella Guzman

Daniella Guzman is a 4 time Emmy Award winning bilingual journalist, a native Houstonian, and currently anchors of KPRC 2 News at 5PM, 6PM and 10PM.

Before returning to Houston a year and a half ago, Daniella worked as a morning news anchor at NBC in Los Angeles and NBC in Chicago. She worked at KPRC before that when she was starting off her career in English TV. Throughout her career, she’s covered all types of local, national, and international breaking news stories. From massive wildfires, hurricanes, earthquakes, political elections, school shootings, immigration issues at the border, the H1N1 outbreak, the COVID pandemic, 3 World Series, 2 Super Bowls and she’ll be covering her 3rd Summer Olympics in Paris next year after live anchoring the Olympics in Rio in 2016, and Tokyo in 2020 for NBC Los Angeles. Daniella is fluent in Spanish, which helped her launched her career, working for Univision and Telemundo in both Houston and in Miami.

Daniella has also been recognized for her work, including “The Excellence in Broadcast Journalism Award” by the National Hispanic Media Coalition, along with a “Golden Mike Award” for Best Daytime News Broadcast, she’s won 4 “Emmy Awards” for her work in Los Angeles and Chicago, and she was recently recognized with a “Telly Award” for her part in covering the Houston Astros Parade in 2023 for KPRC 2.

Daniella has spent countless hours giving back to each city she’s lived and worked in, sitting on several boards to bring attention to many of the non-profit organizations close to her heart. Along with some of her Houston media colleagues, Daniella was helped raise and given out thousands of dollars in scholarships to journalism students as part of the Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals.

Daniella grew up in Sugar Land in Fort Bend County and graduated with a B.A. in bilingual journalism and communications from the University of St. Thomas.

Daniella is a busy working mom to 2 beautiful little girls, 12-year-old Sofia and 7-year-old Olivia. When she’s not on set or chasing a story, Daniella loves to spend time with her family and friends, cooking, dancing, and playing a little pickleball when she has some time.

Daniella loves working in her hometown and being close to her family again.
