Dr. Roberta Grace Scott is a distinguished passionate educator with 18 years of expertise in administration and teaching. She has successfully educated and empowered students to succeed despite their obstacles. Dr. Scott currently serves as the Director of Social Emotional Learning & Student Discipline for the Houston Independent School District, the 7th largest school district in the nation. The opportunity for her to lead this work in efforts to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline and build better lives for students affected by mental illness is gratifying. She has experience working with districts across the country, where she supports the emotional, psychological, and social needs via a Multi-Tiered System to decrease disproportionality amongst Black and Brown students and increase academic performance at K-16.

Dr. Scott also currently serves as an Adjunct Professor with Texas Southern University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Texas Southern University; a master’s in counseling and doctoral degree in educational leadership, both from Prairie View A&M University. Through her ability to coach and develop others, she’s been able to move school systems forward, push educators past their limits, and provide experiences to treasure for a lifetime. In addition, she is a new member of Women in Aviation and in the final preparation phase of obtaining her Private Pilot License (PPL).

She is the founder of No Limit Educators, LLC and Citizen Grace Foundation which focuses on providing mental health services, team building, leadership coaching, strategic planning, workshops, and mentoring support. She advocates for social justice and is a fervent promoter for mental health awareness. Most recently, she has launched a brand #nomorelimits, as well as authored and co-authored four books. She has received numerous honors, been awarded approximately $20 million in grants, and shares her expertise with others by teaching seminars, public speaking events, and serving on a wide-range of educational committees.

Dr. Scott serves on multiple boards, including The Way Home (TWH) Continuum of Care (CoC) Steering Committee. The Coalition for the Homeless is the Lead Agency to the CoC and works collaboratively to ensure homelessness in Harris, Montgomery, and Fort Bend counties is rare, brief, and nonrecurring.

Dr. Scott is recognized for her accomplishments and serves as a voice for Sandy Hook Promise Foundation to build a nationwide movement of parents, schools, and community organizations engaged and empowered to deliver violence prevention programs and mobilize for the passage of sensible state and national policies.

She is a member of the Houston Greater Women’s Chamber of Commerce, American Psychological Association, the National and Texas Alliance of Black School Educators, and Houston Livestock Rodeo Lamb and Goat Committee. She also contributes and adds value to a host of other committees that support the community and all children.

She enjoys life with her daughter, Tiarra, a young entrepreneur and leader, and her granddaughter, Tinsley. She finds pleasure in spending time with her family, friends, golfing, and traveling, which help her stay balanced while living life to the fullest.
