Jacqueline Brock, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, CCHP

With over 35 years of nursing leadership experience, Jacqueline Brock has played critical roles in driving quality improvements and excellence in nursing practice at healthcare organizations throughout the state of Texas.

Brock earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Central University, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University. She also demonstrated her commitment to lifelong learning by completing an Executive MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas after joining Harris Health.

After holding several leadership positions at Dallas’s Parkland Health & Hospital System, she served as the Division Vice President of Clinical Education for the North Texas Division of HCA, Medical City Healthcare. In this role, she oversaw and centralized the division’s clinical education program and led the implementation of new professional development and competency models. Brock also established local academic partnerships to further graduate registered nurse development.

Brock joined Harris Health in Houston as a member of the Senior Executive Leadership Team in 2021. Harris Health is the public healthcare safety net provider, serving the uninsured, underinsured, and low-income residents of Harris County. Despite having worked in the private healthcare sector for most of her career, the opportunity for Brock to care for the most vulnerable patient population is something that is dear to her heart and has driven much of her nursing career.

Brock is responsible for the practice of all professional nursing at Harris Health, which includes creating a culture of safety through collaboration and excellence in clinical care, education, research, and promoting evidence-based practices. Under her leadership, Harris Health continues to maintain excellence in nursing practice as evidenced by Ambulatory Care Services Pathway to Excellence® Designation, Magnet® Designation at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, and Magnet® with Distinction at Ben Taub Hospital through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Brock ensures the Nursing Strategic Plan aligns with and supports the Harris Health Strategic Plan to achieve the vision of Harris Health. Through ongoing strategic initiatives, she continues to advance nursing practice to create the optimal environment for professional nurses, ancillary personnel, and all other healthcare disciplines to support the health and wellness of patients, families, and communities. Her presence at the Texas Legislative hearings related to healthcare issues, including workplace violence, demonstrates an ongoing commitment to serve her profession and communities.
