Lauren E. Waddell is the founder and managing attorney of Waddell Law Firm, P.C., a Houston-based boutique family law firm dedicated to helping clients navigate some of life’s most challenging transitions with strategic, compassionate, and results driven representation. Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2007, Waddell is widely recognized as one of Texas’ leading family law attorneys, with more than two decades of experience representing clients in complex divorce, child custody, and property division matters.

A graduate of Baylor University and South Texas College of Law Houston, Waddell has built an exceptional career marked not only by professional excellence but also by an unwavering commitment to leadership and service within the legal profession. She is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the International Academy of Family Lawyers and has held numerous leadership positions in state and national legal organizations. In 2026, she began her five-year term as a Council Member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, further reflecting her dedication to advancing the practice of family law throughout the state.

Waddell’s influence extends far beyond the courtroom. Throughout her career, she has been a passionate advocate for mentoring and developing the next generation of legal professionals. She has served as President of Texas Women Lawyers and the Association of Women Attorneys, authored numerous legal publications, and regularly speaks at continuing legal education programs and conferences across Texas on topics ranging from ethics and professionalism to financial issues in divorce and leadership in the legal profession.

Her contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition as a Texas Super Lawyer, Top 50 Women Texas Super Lawyer, Top 100 Houston Super Lawyer, Best Lawyers in America, and Fellow of the Year by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. In 2025, she was honored as Committee Chair of the Year by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
