Lora L. Mayes, BSN RN, is the founder and CEO of Beacon Home Health Agency, LLC in Stafford, Texas. Lora oversees all facets of the organization, ensuring seniors receive optimal health care in the comfort of their homes. With a career spanning over 36 years, Lora has emerged as a prominent figure in her community, and her journey embodies a profound commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors and their families. Mrs. Mayes has led Beacon since 2004 and has ensured the organization’s compliance with both state and federal regulations. Beyond her role as a business owner, Lora is a tireless advocate for senior rights and quality health care. She is an active member of the Texas Association of Home Care and Hospice, a previous Board of Director member for the organization from 2020-2022, and current member of the Political Action Committee, Government Affairs and DEI. Lora was instrumental in the development of the Diversity Equity Committee within the TAHCH to ensure the industry recognizes its need for diversity and health equity. Lora is also a Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Alumni, Cohort 22.

Lora L. Mayes actively engages with community organizations, lending her expertise to initiatives aimed at improving access to care and promoting aging in place. Guided by her belief that patients deserve care where they feel happiest and safest, Lora continues to advocate for quality health care delivered with compassion and dignity, making a profound difference in the lives of those she serves. Lora L. Mayes has been married to Ricky Mayes for 36 years. They have two sons and seven grandchildren.
