Petria Mckelvey

Petria McKelvey is CEO and Founder of Precision Medical Billing (PMB), a leading provider of customized medical billing and auditing solutions for home health and hospice agencies, physicians, Durable Medical Equipment (DME) providers, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and nursing homes across the U.S.

With 26 years of experience in the medical billing industry, Petria’s expertise runs wide and deep. Throughout her career, she has helped hundreds of private practitioners and healthcare organizations solve their billing challenges and recover millions of dollars in lost revenues. To date, she has personally performed more than 350 audits and revenue recoveries nationwide.

“The one thing I am most passionate about is the feeling I get by helping a client retrieve revenue they would otherwise forgo simply because they don’t have the time or resources to properly bill or collect it. Taking that burden off my clients or teaching them how to do it on their own helps put their hard-earned money back in their pocket. That’s something I take enormous pride in accomplishing,” says Petria.

Prior to founding PMB in 1995, Petria began her career with Kimberly Quality Care (KQC) in 1989. At the time, KQC was the nation’s largest home health care agency in the country, with more than 380 offices nationwide. She joined the company as a Field Staff Supervisor, and within six months, she was promoted to the Payroll and Billing Department. By the time she left KQC in 1995, she was the Regional Billing Trainer, teaching best practices and techniques to healthcare professionals across a five-state region.

Based in the PMB corporate office in Houston, Petria’s knowledge of continuously changing healthcare regulations, combined with her expertise in the medical billing field, make her a highly sought-after presenter. She regularly travels the country speaking at seminars, conferences and industry events.  Additionally, she hosts a significant number of multi-day training programs designed to help other healthcare professionals improve their billing processes and outcomes.

Petria is an active member of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), and she is also a proud supporter of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC).  She is one of only 100 organizations invited to be a part of Home Care 100, an elite leadership organization dedicated to advancing excellence among leading U.S. healthcare providers.

Petria was a recipient of the d-mars.com 2012 Super HMWP Award and the d-mars.com 2015 Trailblazer HMWP Award.

Outside the office, Petria enjoys spending time with her children, and she is actively involved in her church.
