Wendy Lewis Armstrong

Wendy Lewis Armstrong is a licensed certified public accountant serving as the Chief Auditor, Director of Internal Audit for Noble Corporation, a leading offshore driller. Wendy is a native Houstonian and a proud graduate of Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions. She went on to graduate summa cum laude from Hampton University (Virginia) where she earned her Bachelor of Accountancy and received the president’s award. She began her career in external audit at PricewaterhouseCoopers and held internal audit positions at Southern Union.

During her term as chair of the Rodeo’s Black Heritage Committee, she created a mentorship program for inner city middle school students to educate them on the impacts of agriculture in their everyday lives and to inspire the next generation of Black cowboys and Show volunteers. Elected to serve on the Rodeo’s Board of Directors, Wendy served on two board committees, Educational Contributions Review and Budget and the COVID Community Stakeholder Workgroup, prior to becoming a vice president of the Show. As an officer of the Show, Wendy oversees five committees: Black Heritage, Communications & Special Services, Membership, Special Children’s, and Trailblazer. Growing up, attending rodeo festivities, Wendy joined the Rodeo as a volunteer in 2008.

Wendy Lewis Armstrong served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Houston. Over the course of her 10 years of service to the League, Wendy held various administrative and community placements, including the League’s first Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director, Financial Vice President, Community Treasurer, and Tea Room Treasurer. Wendy was awarded the covenant Sara Houstoun Lindsey Award, which is presented annually to one member who furthers the mission of the League and its vital role in the community. Wendy Lewis Armstrong is now a proud League Sustainer.

Wendy Lewis Armstrong holds memberships in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Greater Houston Chapter of Hampton Alumni, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Women’s Guild, and Humble Intercontinental Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. She currently is a member of the HCA Northwest Board of Trustees and previously served on the boards of the World Youth Foundation, the Houston Chapter and Southwest Region of the National Association of Black Accountants, and the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals. Wendy is a United Way Project Blueprint Alumni and Girl Scout Gold & Silver Awardee.

Wendy Lewis Armstrong is married to Vince Armstrong and enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends and crafting.
