Dr. Krista L. Olson is Assistant Professor and Associate Residency Program Director at the Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Olson has trained at the world-renowned Texas Medical Center and is responsible for training and educating the future surgeons in the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Passionate about facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Olson offers medical and surgical expertise to patients and other health care providers. She specializes in facial plastic surgery, including cosmetic facial rejuvenation, blepharoplasty, otoplasty, auricular reconstruction, treatment of facial vascular malformations, rhinoplasty and nasal reconstruction, brow lift, filler injection and Botox injection.

Dr. Olson received a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University in 1997. She attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, where she was elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and received her M.D. in 1997. At Baylor College of Medicine, she proceeded to complete a general surgery internship and otolaryngology-head & neck surgery residency. In 2004, Dr. Olson entered the distinguished Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship program at the University of California at Irvine. She is Board Certified in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, as well as Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She was admitted as a fellow in the American College of Surgeons in 2007.

During Dr. Olson’s medical career, she was honored with the Baylor College of Medicine Excellent Award for 2000-2001. She received the Who’s Who in America in 2009, 2012 and 2013.  Dr. Olson has co-authored and published medical journals on head and neck surgical techniques, as well as methods on facial plastic surgery. In addition, Dr. Olson has been invited to speak and lecture internationally, regionally and locally.

Dr. Olson is interested in developing new technologies in facial plastic surgery. She grew up in Mexico and is fluent in Spanish. She has three children, and outside of her busy career, she’s very involved in their school and sport activities.
