Vernita Harris

Vernita Harris is a native Houstonian and a creative thinker.  She holds a BBA in Marketing and an MBA in Management from Prairie View A&M University.  Her success in meeting and event planning comes from years of experience as a sales and marketing professional and community service. She obtained her CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) in January 2009.

As the President of Impact Strategies Consultants, Harris is constantly challenged to ensure client’s bottom lines are positively impacted by the firm efforts.   Harris is always working on educational advancement to enhance knowledge and leverage strategic methods in a constant changing business environment.  In September 2010, Harris was chosen as the Associate Publisher of Who’s Who in Black Houston and now has the 5th, 6th and 7th Editions behind her.   She currently serves as National Sales Director.  Also, she opened the doors of Merchant Allied Processing (MAP) in February 2014.

Harris is extremely active in the business community and has been awarded two Executive Business Scholarships from Houston Minority Supplier Development Council, which allowed her to attend Tuck’s Executive Education at Dartmouth.  As a result, Impact Strategies Consultants won the Emerging – 10 Award in November 2010 from the Houston Minority Supplier Development Council.

She has a long list of successful and innovative projects to her credit.  Harris’ visionary talents and marketing skills doubled the membership of the Houston Chapter of the National Black MBAA in two years, securing a national conference.  As the National Conference Chair, Harris was awarded a Certificate of Recognition by former Councilman Ron Green for generating over 15 million dollars in revenue for Houston in a five day period.  She managed and provided event planning services for the 2007 Community Health HIV Awareness Concert.  This included providing oversight and coordination of free HIV testing and educational awareness for 7,000 + teenagers and young adults in the Houston area.
