Audrey Marie Cosby

Audrey Marie Cosby, committed to the care and nurture of family and the faithful, is a proud native of Chicago, Illinois who studied nursing at Hampton University. While in Virginia she began care for homebound persons in the home health care field.

She now ensures that the same care she provided for others in Virginia is given in service at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church where her husband and high school sweetheart, Dr. Marcus D. Cosby, serves as pastor. At Wheeler Avenue she has mentored young girls in the Girls Rites of Passage Program, provided leadership to various service ministries, expanded the church’s outreach to the homeless community and served as Middle School Ministry Coordinator. She is likewise a member of the Board of the Central City Comprehensive Community Center (5 C’s), a non-profit organization committed to the promotion of social services in the Third Ward community.

Aside from her service to Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, Cosby is quite active in civic affairs as well. She is a member of Jack and Jill of America, The Links, Incorporated.  She has served as a Harris County Election Clerk and on the Citizen Review Team of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. She was recently elected to the Board of Directors of   Target Hunger and the Imani School Parent Association Executive Board.

She is the proud mother of five children, Adrienne Marie, Ashley Marie, Aliyah Marie, Marcus D, II and Matthew D. Cosby.
