Kristin L. Massey

Kristin L. Massey is an accomplished business leader and the vice president of Bayou City Event Center, the largest privately-owned event center in Houston. She graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2003, where she also served as the president of the Economics Department for two terms.

Early on, Kristin was selected by the department to work with the Waco Chamber of Commerce, where she leveraged her education to collaborate with small, medium, and large companies to identify strategies to further industrialize the city. Concurrently, she excelled as an intern at the Southwestern Company, ranking first regionally and 10th nationally out of 3,500 students. This success led to a full-time position with the Southwestern Company, where she established the company’s presence in Houston. As the organization’s top sales manager, Kristin created new internship opportunities for students at Rice University, Texas Southern University (TSU), and the University of Houston.

Kristin’s business development prowess was further demonstrated when she was hired to open a new branch of Cambridge Galaher Settlements in Houston, Texas. She developed a new client base for the company and aided both domestic and international clients in reaching settlements with protected client assets. Kristin’s expertise eventually brought her into a new family business, where she plays a pivotal role as vice president of Bayou City Event Center. She and her mother, Lori Schroeder, have grown this magnificent woman-owned business together for the last 13 years and counting! In 2016, the event center expanded into in-house catering. With its culinary and management teams, the event center has mastered the art of catering for hundreds or thousands of guests per event.

In her vice president role, Kristin has built extensive client relationships with large organizations like MD Anderson, Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, Baylor College of Medicine, Community Health Choice, Texas Children’s Hospital, Houston Methodist, Better Business Bureau, City of Houston, Greater Houston Port Bureau, University of Texas, University of Houston, A&M Club, Houston Independent School District, Houston Community College Foundation, Texas Children’s Hospital, Vaskey Media Group, GT Sports Marketing, and several others.

Kristin and her team have executed some of the largest events in Houston, including private events with StubHub Super Bowl LI, Final Four, and Copa, and with special guests like Bret Michaels, Tom Keifer, T-Pain, Paul Wall, Bun B, Trae tha Truth, Gatlin Brothers, Temptations, Lee Greenwood, Demi Lovato, Yolanda Adams, Steve Wariner, Jay Leno, JJ Watt, Dana White, Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Yordan Alvarez, Emmitt Smith, Kyle Tucker, Ryan Pressly, Jeremy Pena, Drew Brees, George Springer, Warren Moon, Michael Irvin, Terry Bradshaw, Dan Pastorini, Darryl Strawberry, Eddie George, Chuck Norris, and many others.

Kristin is currently an active director and past gala co-chair for the Kym Coleman Education Foundation (KCEF), where she raised the highest funds of any single gala in the organization’s history. Kristin has also been a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since 2004, where she has served half of her years in leadership.

Kristin is a proud mother to Landon, Emma, and Brian. You can often find her and her husband, Jeff Goldberg, cheering on their kids’ educational, sports, and entrepreneurial goals.
