Lisa Modica

Ms. Lisa Modica is Vice President of Global Labor & Employment Law at Halliburton Company, a Fortune 200 multi-national oil and gas services company with over 45,000 employees. In this role, she is responsible for the legal strategy and risk management of global employment claims and disputes, regulatory enforcement actions, and employment litigation. Ms. Modica manages a significant departmental budget, manages outside counsel, and supervises a staff of attorneys and support personnel. She is a member of the Executive Legal Management Team, reporting directly to the general counsel and a trusted advisor to the C-Suite. Ms. Modica also has responsibility for U.S. Immigration and the U.S. Dispute Resolution Program, which includes mediations and arbitrations of employment claims.
Ms. Modica has had a successful law career in both private practice and in-house. Prior to Halliburton, Ms. Modica was an ERISA attorney at Continental Airlines from 2005 to 2010. From 1999 to 2005, Ms. Modica was in private practice as an ERISA associate at Vinson & Elkins L.L.P.

Ms. Modica is the recipient of several awards, including receiving recognition as a 2023 Wonderful Women honoree, Lawyers of Color, and the Nation’s Best List honoree, Southwest Region, by Lawyers of Color in October 2020. She is the recipient of the 2018 Breakthrough Woman Award by the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce and the Women in Energy Award by the Houston Business Journal in 2016.

Ms. Modica is committed to community service. She is the Chair-Elect of the Board of Directors of the Houston Area Women’s Center and serves on its Nominating and Governance Committee. She formerly served as chair and board member of Aid for Victims of Domestic Abuse (2005-2017) and as a member of the Board of Directors of Avondale House for Autism (2003-2005).
