Melanie Perez

Melanie Perez is an entrepreneur, business leader, mentor, and community advocate whose journey is defined by resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to serving others. As the co-owner and Administrative Director of Leo & Mel’s Gardening Services LLC, she has helped transform a family-owned business into a respected and rapidly growing company while empowering others through leadership, education, and meaningful community engagement.

After relocating from California to Texas, Perez embraced the challenge of rebuilding both her life and business from the ground up. Together with her husband, she successfully reestablished their landscaping company in the Greater Houston area, guiding it through remarkable growth and earning recognition as one of the Houston Chronicle’s Best of the Best Top 5 Landscaping Companies. Today, the company continues expanding into commercial and government contracting, strengthening its reputation as a trusted provider of high-quality outdoor services.

Behind the scenes, Perez serves as the strategic force driving the company’s daily operations and long-term growth. She oversees administration, marketing, client relations, compliance, networking, and business development with a thoughtful balance of precision and vision. Her leadership has strengthened the company’s foundation while creating new partnerships and opportunities for continued success.

A passionate advocate for lifelong learning, Perez holds degrees in Small Business Management and Marketing, which she applies to every aspect of her leadership. She generously shares her knowledge and personal experiences to encourage aspiring entrepreneurs and support fellow small business owners, reminding others that setbacks do not define success—perseverance does.

Her commitment to community is reflected through her active involvement with the Partnership Lake Houston Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Lake Houston, Kingwood Business Women, Women in Networking, WGNO Sigma Chapter, and as a leader within The Net – The Closers Chapter. Through these organizations, she cultivates meaningful relationships, supports local entrepreneurs, strengthens professional networks, and champions collaboration over competition.

As a devoted mother of three, including raising a child with special needs while pursuing higher education and building a thriving business, Perez exemplifies strength, compassion, and perseverance. Every challenge she has faced has strengthened her purpose to lead with integrity, serve her community, and inspire others to pursue their goals with confidence.

Perez continues to demonstrate that true success is measured not by where one begins, but by the courage to rebuild, the determination to persevere, and the commitment to uplift others along the way
