Courtney Isaak Pichon

Courtney Isaak Pichon is the CEO of Good Reason Houston, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every child, in every neighborhood, excels in a world-class public school and thrives in the Houston of tomorrow. Good Reason Houston serves as the region’s education backbone, bringing together K–12, higher education, employers, philanthropy, and community partners to shape the conditions that accelerate education progress and support more Houston students on a path to earning a living-wage job.

Prior to becoming CEO, Pichon served as the Chief Program Officer for Good Reason Houston. A founding team member who joined the organization in 2018, she has held nearly every leadership role at the organization, helping shape Good Reason Houston’s strategy from the ground up. Throughout her tenure, she has worked shoulder to shoulder with district leaders, educators, and community partners closest to students, giving her a firsthand understanding of the opportunities and challenges shaping public education across the region. She led the organization’s programmatic and research agenda, working closely with superintendents, school system leaders, and educators to identify and scale practices that improve student outcomes. She also built cross-sector partnerships connecting public school districts, charter networks, higher education institutions, community organizations, employers, and philanthropic leaders around a shared vision for Houston’s students. Pichon brings more than 15 years of experience in education leadership, strategy, and systems change, with a focus on expanding opportunity and improving outcomes for students.

As CEO, Pichon believes Houston has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to become the nation’s leading education city. Having worked alongside leaders across every part of the education ecosystem, she is more convinced than ever that lasting progress is possible when communities align around ambitious goals and shared accountability. She is focused on scaling the organization’s most effective initiatives, strengthening collaboration across school systems and higher education institutions, advancing outcome-driven investments, and equipping civic, business, and philanthropic leaders to champion lasting change. Under her leadership, Good Reason Houston is helping build a future where every student has access to an excellent public education and every graduate is prepared to succeed in college, career, and life—strengthening not only individual opportunity but Houston’s long term economic vitality and competitiveness.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Pichon and her family are proud to call Houston home. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick and their children exploring Houston’s diverse neighborhoods, spending time outdoors, and making memories together as a family. Her optimism about Houston is rooted not only in her work, but in her belief that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and that when students succeed, the entire region prospers.
