Belinda Mays

Belinda Mays is an associate manager at Lockheed Martin Enterprise Operations, where she coaches and mentors early-career employees in the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP). In addition to her leadership role in ELDP, Belinda also provides executive-level support to the senior vice president and chief information officer’s technical assistant.

Belinda is a certified project management professional (PMP), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), and Scrum.org product owner. She is passionate about process automation, continuous improvement, and providing efficient user experiences. Belinda has over 20 years of front-end application, SQL, and systems integration experience. Throughout her career, Belinda has successfully led large complex projects, including the Content Server Directory Services transition, which impacted 24,000 active domestic and international users across multiple defense programs.

In addition to her IT career, Belinda is also an award-winning author and speaker. She is the author of six children’s books, including, My Amazing Dad, 7 Days with Daddy, I Am, God’s Affirmations For Little Girls, and I Am, God’s Affirmations For Little Boys. She has received a Purple Dragonfly Award, a Christian Indie Award, and a Book Excellence Finalist Award.

Belinda’s writing style captivates children while entertaining adults. Her published book titled My Amazing Dad started as a tall tale speech about her father, retired Air Force sergeant Berkins Booker Jr. After his passing, Belinda transformed the speech into a beloved children’s book and found her purpose as an author: to promote literacy and positive family images.

Her synergy of communication and technical skills allows her to connect with diverse audiences at an intimate and individual level. She has given numerous presentations during conferences, community events, and business luncheons.

Belinda obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Communication from Huston-Tillotson University and received a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin.

Belinda served as an area director, Vice President of Education, and Vice President of Membership for Toastmasters in District 52 and 25. She also volunteered as a speaker for the North Texas American Diabetes Association and Raising the Standard Foundation Girls Math and Science AKAdemy. She is a proud silver star member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Belinda is a native of Beaumont, Texas. She currently resides in Houston with her husband, Dr. Anthony Mays, her mother, and the couple’s three children. She enjoys writing, speaking, and outdoor water activities.
