Kim Padgett

When Kim Padgett isn’t managing her public relations firm, The Padgett Group, this media maven can be found supporting charities throughout Houston. Padgett has spent the last 25 years combining her passion for public relations and charity work. She believes that no matter what you give, whether it’s time, treasure or talent, it’s important to give back.

She is an active community volunteer and animal advocate born and raised in Houston.

She currently serves on the Chairman’s Council for Escape Family Resource Center after serving on the board for more than 16 years. She recently chaired the Annual Celebrity Serve benefit for the organization. She has served on the board of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau and is serving on the advisory board for the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship. Padgett has served on the boards of the Partnership for Baylor College of Medicine, Goodwill Industries, Houston Achievement Place, and Joyful Toyful Fiesta.

She is a founding board member for the Evelyn’s Park Conservancy and served over eight years on the City of Bellaire Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Padgett is a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and has served on the Armed Forces Appreciation Committee and currently serves on the PR committee for HLSR Wine Committee. She also served on the City of Houston Mayor’s Committee on Water Conservation and Human Trafficking and chaired the Light the Night Blue Consulate event at the Houston Galleria.

She chaired benefits for Citizens for Animal Protection, Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation, T. Berry Brazelton Foundation, Interfaith Ministries, Galleria Chamber of Commerce, Houston Achievement Place and others. Her fundraising efforts have benefited AIDS Foundation Houston, March of Dimes, Recipe for Success and more. She was one of the founding families of Veritas Christian Academy, a private school in Bellaire.

Professionally, Padgett serves as the president of The Padgett Group, a strategic marketing and public relations consulting firm she founded 16 years ago in Houston. The Padgett Group serves a diverse clientele in the technology, luxury, retail, restaurant, hospitality, energy, banking & finance, legal and real estate industries. 

Recognized by numerous organizations, Padgett has been named a Public Relations Society of America “Media Relations Professional of the Year”, HTexas Magazine’s “Most Beautiful”, honoree for Citizens for Animal Protection, honoree for the International Mother’s Day Soiree, Culturemap’s Most Eligible, Culturemap’s StyleFile, Pet Talk Magazine’s Media Hound, and serves as a judge each year for the Houston Medical Society Journalism awards as well as the Rice University Business Plan Competition.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Foreign Studies and Master of Arts in International Journalism from Baylor University. She also attended college in Aix-en-Provence, France and London. She is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Kappa Alpha Fraternity Southern Belle.

Padgett is the mother of two sons, Tommy and Charlie. In her downtime, she travels around the world with her sons and friends, or relaxes with her two fur babies, Brando and Cassidy.
