Shae Keefe Jacobs is senior counsel at Husch Blackwell LLP, an AmLaw 100 law firm with an uncommon approach. Shae began her legal career over 20 years ago while earning her bachelor’s degree at the University of South Florida. She worked up the ranks at several Tampa law firms as a file clerk, legal assistant, and paralegal. In 2006, Shae moved to Houston to attend South Texas College of Law. (That’s right–she’s not from Texas, but she got here as quickly as she could!)
Shae started practicing in 2009 and for the past 15 years, she’s assisted clients with a variety of commercial, insurance, and real estate-related disputes. Shae represents public entities and private businesses in eminent domain litigation for high-profile infrastructure projects. She represents clients in both state and federal courts, and her deep understanding of Texas state law—as well as the state’s real estate industry—provides clients with valuable insight into how to account for litigation risk and develop strategies that accomplish their overall business and legal objectives. Shae is a frequent writer and speaker on a variety of topics, including legal and professional ethics, crisis management, and Texas condemnation law.
She is a proud member of the Texas Bar College, which is a professional society of legal scholars who are leaders in the Texas legal community and champions of legal education. Her professional endeavors include memberships in the American Bar Association, Houston Bar Association, Houston Bar Foundation, International Right of Way Association, and the Texas Bar Foundation (Life Fellow). Shae recently joined the River Oaks Women’s Breakfast Club, a long-standing, highly respected professional association.
She is a frequent participant in Husch Blackwell’s Communities 4 Change initiative, a pro-bono program committed to promoting economic empowerment among qualifying underrepresented businesses, including minority-owned businesses and nonprofits in under-resourced communities. This aligns with her personal commitment to social justice, equity and inclusion, and community involvement as a board member of Allies in Hope (formerly AIDS Foundation of Houston), a member of the Asia Society, and a long-time supporter of the Houston Area Urban League, Houston Food Bank, and The Montrose Center.
Shae further supports the Houston community as a Director of The 100 Club, a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Wine Events Committeeman, and “Sharks R Us” BBQ Cook-Off team member, a Friend of Child Advocates, Texas Children’s Hospital Ambassador, and past president of the Kappa Delta Houston Alumnae Chapter.
